Our History

La Fontaine de la MouffeSince 1992

Since the summer of 1992, we have offered several French specialties in the heart of the Latin Quarter, between rue Mouffetard and rue du Pot de Fer.

For over 27 years now, we have been offering all our customers fondues, Savoyard and Burgundy, but also raclette, and also other French specialties:
beef bourguignon, steak cooked over a wood fire (like all our meats) or our fresh royal sole, grilled, or sea bream, whole, for fish lovers.
It must be said, that it is Stergios, the restaurant manager, who does his shopping himself, several times a week, at the famous Rungis market, to offer the best possible quality to our customers, who come from all over the world. for our specialties.

Our desserts

For gourmets, we also have a chocolate fondue to share with the family as well as many homemade desserts: crème brûlée, chocolate charlotte, our famous chocolate mousse and apple pie, but also caramel cream, just as delicious. All our desserts are homemade and on site, without exception.

A complete menu

For several years, we have diversified our daily menu, with many dishes and desserts of the day, with many dishes and other specialties, sometimes more exotic, that we invite you to find on our different social networks (Facebook page, Instagram page, TripAdvizor and Google My Business).

A great team

The whole team is like our customers: warm, open to the world and so proud to represent several French specialties, whatever the season. And most importantly, serve all of our customers, whatever their tastes and stories.

A point of honor also to Angeliki, wife of the manager, true ambassador of the restaurant and friend of the customers, who takes care, with great care, of all the dishes that come out to satisfy all our customers. Besides, since 2020, she has exhibited her own paintings for those who will raise their eyes the next time they come back to our house. And finally we can cite Alexandros, the hidden son of the shadows, that some have already known with Evangelos, his other brother, who participate in their own way in the survival and the dynamism of the restaurant, whether in the neighborhood or on social networks, thank you too.

Finally, we take advantage of this first introduction to thank all the customers who have come to us and who have continued to return for several years. We also thank all those who are passing through this dynamic and human neighborhood of Mouffetard that we love. And of course thank you to all our employees and partners for continuing to bring La Fontaine de la Mouffe to life beyond our other countries and virtual borders.

Typical French fondue in Paris!

Had a fantastic lunch here! Fondue was wonderful as was the rose. Wonderful family owned restaurant and lovely owner suffered through our attempts at French with kindness and grace. I can't wait to return someday, hopefully soon.
